Solo, no online. Or my brother and I'd play. We have over lvl 100, I believe we were doing everything on the most rapid mode (ultimate? Cant remember) at one pointI found it interesting how in PSO2 Meseta a specific difficulty all of the phases changed (or at least I remember there being adjustments, maybe it was only the bosses). 1 day that I was being dumb and flipped Phantasy Star Online 2 off while saving. My save, broke my heart, never moved back.

Lol, my friends were also obsessed with this game only we had characters corrupted multiple occasions (cause you needed to do this weird memory card transfer thing) and we'd just start over every time. Despite that we'd maxed out characters. And it was something like Hard or Very Difficult would open up more areas (like Caves 3 didn't exist in reduced problems ) and Ultimate would alter all the enemy models. It was a super neat progression system at the time. Given my only experience was Diablo 2, that did not alter up anything aesthetically based on difficulty.

Stage span wasn't affected by difficulty. The phases needed semi-randomized layouts (not generated randomly, but chosen from a pool of possible map variants each playthrough). Ultimate Difficulty was the only difficulty with changes. Enemies gained distinct looks and behaviours (movement and attack rate fluctuations, new/different abilities, etc). Other Traditional + Difficult + Very Hard, than that were functionally identical but with loot tables and harder opponents. Ultimate also slightly changed the levels. Is that Forest Ultimate was always at sunset with an orange put on the level.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is a enigma that genuinely puzzles me. I am shocked. Not just that it took Sega eight years to eventually bring it outside of Japan and SEA despite the relative success of PSO and PSU from the Western economy, but that Microsoft of publishers paid out of the ass to get a timed exclusive launch of an eight year-old Japan exclusive for the Xbox One - a console that flopped so hard the PS4 has outsold it by over 2 to 1. I will admit, a great deal of folks have been awaiting for Phantasy Star Online 2 so that I could kinda see why Microsoft would be attempting to get some points. The SEA version lasted a mere four years in contrast, preserved by Playpark and missed years worth of content updates, was translated. However, this ship sailed years back. Anybody who badly wanted to play Phantasy Star Online 2 established themselves around the JP servers, downloaded a buff patch and https://www.pso2ah.com/ could have enrolled on the website of the version.
