I feel that collecting the required materials is already Cheap Maplestory2 Mesos tedious enough, so the crafting process can be streamlined without creating the entire event a "freebie."

The simplest fix would be to include a "how many do you want to buy/make?" Question to Malady's dialog before she takes your items and provides you your reward and exp. She'll need to check that you have sufficient stuff, and that you have enough space in your stock for the rewards, until she performs the transaction.

The cooler fix is to change Malady to utilize the tagging system, similar to Beefy's Kitchen. Give her a Sack (shop NPC for purchasing things with Dark Tokens) and also a Cauldron (crafting NPC for cooking items based on her recipes), and the built-in operation of these types of NPCs will care for the quantity issue. The only tricky bit is that a few of her items can be crafted two different ways. I am not certain whether the crafting system may handle two recipes that yield the exact same item. Within this world, monsters are more powerful and give more EXP. As you fight, you are going to receive significantly more mesos, as well as equipment relevant to your character's job. Useful items are designed to be accessible throughout gameplay, so some items won't be available in the Money Shop, or may simply be marketed for mesos instead. Thing enhancement is simplified, and trades are handicapped. As opposed to buying what you need from other players along with the Cash Shop, you will earn it naturally through gameplay as you collect items and grow stronger!
